Iraqi Embassy Legalization

The US Arab Chamber of Commerce assists U.S. exporters and corporations to expedite the legalization process and obtain the required authentications in a timely manner.

Embassy Legalization for Business Documents

(all type of documents except invoice or certificate of origin)

The US Arab Chamber of Commerce legalizes business and federally issued documents from the Embassy of Iraq in Washington D.C.

Business documents must be signed, notarized, and certified from the secretary of the state such as:

Once we receive your document we will do the following:

1. Stamp it by the US Arab Chamber of Commerce.
2. Authenticate it from US Department of State.
3. Legalize it by the Embassy of Iraq in Washington DC.

Legalization for Commercial Documents (Commercial Invoice-Certificate of Origin)

Certificate of Origin and Commercial Invoice destined for use in Iraq:

• Original document signed by a company official and notarized.
• Certified from the Secretary of the State.
• Stamped by the Local Chamber

Once we receive your document we will do the following:

1. Stamp it by the US Arab Chamber of Commerce.
2. Authenticate it from US Department of State.
3. Legalize it by the Embassy of Iraq in Washington DC

Any commercial Invoice or Certificate of Origin destined for use in Iraq requires special preparations before it can be legalized by the Iraqi Embassy in Washington, which are:

1. The Certificate must include the manufacturer (exporter) contact information in the United States such as name, address, telephone and fax number.
2. Likewise, it must include the importer contact information in Iraq such as name, address, telephone and fax number.
3. If the certificate is consisting of multiple pages, it must be numerated. For example: (page 1 of 3, page 2 of 3, page 3 of 3). Otherwise, the embassy will consider every page as single certificate and charge you $160.00 per page.
4. The exported product must be manufactured in the United States.
5. In case of exporting food or drugs, you must include a certified Health Certificate. Additionally, If the importer is:

A Private Agency: the exporter must include all the following certificates

• Company Check or Money Order Payable to “US Arab Chamber of Commerce”
• Credit cards: Master, Visa, American Express. (Add an extra 5% handling fee).
• Billing Request for companies that have a current “G- Account”
  (A "G-Account" is usually assigned to companies with a high volume of certifications)
